Dr John Glastonbury is a general ophthalmologist with special interest in glaucoma, cataract and intraocular lens implant surgery. He practices from the Vision Eye Institute Hyde Park Clinic in Townsville.
Dr John Glastonbury graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1980 from Flinders University of South Australia. He completed his ophthalmic training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists in 1988.
Dr Glastonbury’s previous appointments were as Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and he has worked at the Townsville General Hospital.
In 1996 Dr Glastonbury and his family moved to Townsville and he began Ophthalmology practice. He is a regular attendee at meetings, conferences and symposia related to his field of practice.
Dr Glastonbury is married with 2 children. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family, as well as their shared passion for photography.
