Dr Roberts has a keen interest in the continuing developments in cataract surgery. He and his fellow cataract surgeons at Vision Eye Institute in Chatswood are known worldwide for their research, peer-reviewed publications, invited lectures and laser cataract surgery. Dr Roberts is particularly proud of the fact that the Chatswood was one of the first four clinics in the world to install FDA-approved laser cataract technology.
Although cataract surgery is one of the most successful, safest and predictable procedures in the world, Dr Roberts and his colleagues are continually looking to improve the accuracy and predictability of the surgery. This, in turn, will bring continual improvements in patient outcomes.
Because his work can be intense, he believes that it is important to maintain a good overall life/work balance.
He particularly enjoys many forms of outdoor activities. The long list of sports he participates in includes tennis, touch football, kayaking, windsurfing, golf and bike riding.
Dr Roberts plays acoustic and bass guitar in his local church band. However, his greatest joy is spending as much time as possible with his wife and three adult daughters.
