Dr Simon Chen is a retinal specialist, vitreoretinal surgeon and laser cataract surgeon.

He is an expert in modern treatments for age related macular degeneration, sutureless retinal surgery and laser cataract surgery. He is a principal investigator for numerous international clinical trials of new treatments for retinal disease.

Dr Chen was born and educated in London, UK. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of London, then trained in Ophthalmology at the teaching hospitals of the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, UK. He undertook extensive advanced training in retinal and cataract surgery during fellowships at the Oxford Eye Hospital, UK and Lions Eye Institute, Australia. This experience and international training enables Dr Chen to manage the full range of routine and complex retinal problems.

Dr Chen has been selected to treat many doctors, nurses, optometrists and their closest relatives, who trust his reputation for intricate microsurgery, passion for excellence and ability to communicate well.
