Dr Sutton shares:
“A recent LASIK article from the US Navy Refractive Surgery Centre in Portsmouth Virginia reported on the visual outcomes in naval aviators(pilots). These armed forces personnel have extremely high visual needs and expectations. The study involved 548 eyes who underwent LASIK with the femtosecond laser. 98.3% of all short –sighted patients achieved a visual acuity of 6/6 (20/20). 95.6% believed that LASIK had helped their effectiveness as naval aviators and 99.6% would recommend the same treatment to other aviators.”
