
A/Prof Colin Chan is an expert in laser eye surgery (LASIK and ASLA), laser cataract and laser lens surgery, keratoconus and dry eye. He also specialises in the areas of keratoconus, collagen crosslinking, Intracorneal rings (Intacs, Kerarings), corneal transplant, pterygium, dry eye and ocular surface disease.
After graduating in Medicine and Surgery with Honours from the University of Melbourne, A/Prof Chan became a resident and registrar in a number of medical and surgical fields at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. He then underwent ophthalmic surgical training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital. He subsequently was awarded a Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery in Beverley Hills, Los Angeles, USA, with Brian Boxer Wachler at the respected Boxer Wachler Vision Institute and the University of California, Irvine.
A/Prof Chan is currently Director of Refractive Surgery Degree 1 at the University of Sydney, holds two university academic positions: Conjoint Associate Professor, Faculty of Science, UNSW and Clinical Senior Lecturer, Central Clinical School, University of Sydney. He is also Examiner for Ocular Therapeutics diploma at UNSW.
