After my family and my profession, my interest is breeding racehorses. This is a past time that I grew up – both of my grandfathers were very passionate about race horses, and I first went to races when I was just seven years old. My grandfather was also the president of The Gosford Racing Club.
My interest in breeding horses has actually surpassed that of both my grandfathers, and that passion has been passed onto the next generation of Rogers. One of my sons is a world expert in thoroughbred horse breeding. He now lives in Lexington Kentucky.
I helped a friend of mine, who was a book publisher, to write a book about the all-time great race horses in Australia. We worked with a journalist to complete “Racing’s All Time Greats”
I have eight children in total who are now adults. Now that the house is empty of children (except when the grandkids are around) I am able to spend more quality time with my wife. I enjoy reading Russian Literature, and I’m also a sports viewing fanatic.
